IPhone Screenshot Function

After surfing the Internet on your iPhone for a while, you might find yourself using it more often than you use your PC. While you probably know that your iPhone is good for simple Web surfing, you can use it to do something your PC does as well: take screen captures. By pressing a couple of buttons, you can save the image on your iPhone's screen to your phone's Camera Roll. You can email it, save it or share it with others as you want.

  • Arrange your screen so it appears as you want it in the screen capture.

  • Press the "Home" and "Sleep/Wake" buttons. Release the buttons simultaneously. You will hear a camera shutter sound as the iPhone captures the screen image.

  • Press the "Home" button and tap the "Camera" icon.

  • Tap the "Camera Roll" button in the bottom corner to view the screen capture.

Tips & Warnings

  • Tap the image of the screen capture in the Camera Roll. Select the action button at the bottom to share, email, text, tweet or print the image.
  • These steps cover an iPhone running iOS 6. Instructions may differ for different versions.
