How to Report a Bug For the iPhone

Save

Apple’s quality assurance team conducts stringent tests on the iPhone’s iOS operating system. However, no QA process is 100% effective, and users often discover bugs that were missed by the testing team. If you happen upon a software bug on your iPhone and want to let Apple know, you can use the company’s iPhone feedback page. This page isn’t limited to bug reports – you can also submit feedback on the design of the iPhone, usability of apps and web connectivity.

  • Point your browser to Apple’s iPhone feedback page, which you can find listed in the “Resources” section of this guide.

  • Enter your name, email address and a subject line.

  • Select “Bug Report” on the “Feedback Type” drop-down.

  • Describe the bug in the “Comments” section. Remember, bug reports must be detailed to be useful, so be specific about what you were doing, where you were doing it and which apps you had open when the bug occurred.

  • Select your operating system, if applicable, on the “Which operating system are you running?” section.

  • Click “Submit Feedback” to send the bug to Apple.
