How to Turn Off Vibrate on a Motorola Droid

The Motorola Droid uses phone vibration to provide tactile alerts for notifications from your phone and other apps. The physical keyboard on your Droid also vibrates whenever you type. If you would rather your phone didn't vibrate every time you receive a call or type a text message, you can turn off this feature from the settings app on your Droid.

  • Press the menu button and then tap "Settings."

  • Tap "Sound & display" and then tap "Phone vibrate."

  • Set vibration to "Never" to disable notification vibrations.

  • Press the back button to return to the top level of the settings application.

  • Tap "Language & keyboard" and then tap "Touch Input."

  • Tap "Text Input" and then tap "Vibrate when typing" to disable keyboard vibration.

Tips & Warnings

  • Not all apps adhere to system level settings, so if an app continues to use vibration for notifications, you will need to turn off vibrate from the settings section of that specific app.
