How to Configure BSNL Broadband

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.), one of India's largest telephony and Internet providers, provides broadband Internet to both private and business clients, using the PPPoE network protocol. Unfortunately, their technical support is not the best in the field, so many users are unaware of how easy it is to configure a BSNL broadband connection. All you need is the username and password; Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. provides it when you sign up for their broadband service.

  • Go to the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" icon. You can adjust most of your computer's settings using the Control Panel.

  • Click on the "View network status and tasks" link in the "Network and Internet" section.

  • Click on the "Set up a new connection or network" link to start setting up a broadband connection to the Internet.

  • Select the "Connect to the Internet" option and click on the "Next" button.

  • Click on the "Broadband (PPPoE)" option to set up a broadband connection.

  • Type your BSNL user name in the "User name" text box and your BSNL password in the "Password" text box. Select the "Remember this password" option to avoid typing the password every time you connect to the Internet.

  • Type a name in the "Connection name" text box. You can enter anything, but a suggestive name, like "BSNL Broadband Connection," is recommended. Place a check-mark in front of the "Allow other people to use this connection" option to allow other users to use your connection.

  • Click on the "Connect" button to set up the connection. Windows tests the connection and automatically connects you to the Internet. If you see an error related to the username or password, reenter the username and password.

Tips & Warnings
