How to Use Google Analytics With Mail Order Manager

Google Analytics allows you to track clicks from an email order manager system. When you send a newsletter or sales letter to an email recipient, the user clicks a link to open the landing page on your Web server. You add query string values to the link and add the Analytics code to the landing page HTML. The concept allows you to track leads and conversions for your marketing campaigns.

      Open a Web browser and log in to your Analytics dashboard. Click the site that contains the email landing page. Click the "Action" menu item and select "Edit." Copy the Analytics code displayed in the text field.

      Open the HTML landing page for your email in your HTML editor. Paste the Analytics code in the body of your landing page and save the changes to the page.

      Open the email message that contains the link to the landing page. Locate the email that the user clicks to navigate to your Web page.

      Change the link to display your Analytics code information. For instance, the following code links to a landing page for a company named "mycampaign":

      mysite.com/landingpage.php?utm_campaign=mycampaign&utm_medium=salesemail

      The campaign and the email category are logged by the Analytics code on your landing page. When a user clicks the link, you see the lead in your Analytics dashboard.
