Hitachi TH-160H AV Installation Instructions
Installing Hitachi's older SATA laptop hard drive model TH-160H AV is straightforward, unlike IDE hard drives, which can get confusing. The biggest obstacle you'll encounter when installing the TH-160 is opening up your laptop. Working in one can be daunting for the first time. Every piece of hardware is precisely layered to use every bit of space available. If you're not familiar with your particular laptop model or how it's opened, visit your manufacturer's website to obtain the manual.

3
Unscrew the screws securing the laptop's hard drive. Some laptops require you to open the entire case to access the hard drive. This is model specific; check with your laptop's manufacturer about your specific model if you're unfamiliar with how to access the hard drive.

Remove the screws securing the hard drive to the removable slot (if there is one.)

Tips & Warnings
All laptop screws should be accounted for when you're putting your laptop back together. If some turn up missing, assume they're inside the laptop somewhere and don't turn it on.
