How to Replace the Front Element on a Canon A-1

The Canon A-1 was commercially available from 1978 to 1985. It is notable as the first single-lens reflex, or SLR, camera to incorporate a microprocessor to control the shutter speed. As with most cameras of this type, the front element on the end of the lens assembly is prone to damage from being dropped or knocked into another object. While the process to replace the front element on a Canon A-1 is simple, you must be careful to avoid damaging the lens assembly and the replacement piece.
