Download a webcam broadcasting software application that’s compatible with your system. A number of broadcasting apps are available, including Eye Spy FX, Yawcam and Webcam XP. Save the download into an easily accessible location on your hard drive.

Install the broadcasting software to your PC by double-clicking the filename in your saved location. Follow the software instructions for installation onto your system.

Double-click on the icon placed onto your desktop by the installation program to run the broadcasting software.

Enter into the setup menu for the software and select the webcam plugged into your system for recognition. Some applications will automatically scan your system and select the cam without your input.

Common choices include still pictures that display at chosen intervals or a full real-time stream that shows a continuous picture from your webcam that can be watched over the Internet. Confirm your choices to begin streaming your webcam picture to the website designated by the broadcasting software. The software will give you access information for your stream, including the site location that you must type into your browser to view the stream. Some software hosts the streams from its own site, while others establish a stream directly from your computer by creating an IP address in your own system’s network for connecting to a browser.

Mark down the address for your stream provided by the broadcasting software and the type the address into your Internet browser to check on the stream. It should be showing as directed, and you can access the stream from any Internet capable system.
