How to Install Java on the F700

Java is a free software program created by Sun Microsystems in 1995. The program is currently distributed by Oracle, a leader in database software. Many Internet Websites require you to have Java installed to enjoy activities, such as online gaming, chatting and viewing three dimensional graphics. Installing Java on your Compaq Presario F700 is easy and takes a couple of minutes to complete.

Instructions

1. Open your F700's Internet browser.

2. Direct the browser's address bar to the Oracle's Java website at www.java.com. Click the “Free Java Download” button.

3. Read through the End User License Agreement. If you agree to the terms of usage, click “Agree & Start Free Download.”

4. Click “Run” at the installer prompt. Select “Save” to save the Java file to your computer's desktop.

5. Double-Click the downloaded Java file (from desktop). Click “Install” to complete the installation.

6. Wait for the prompt to appear, indicating that Java is successfully installed. Click “Close” to close the installation window.

7. Close your Internet browser. Reboot your computer to complete the installation process.
