How to Flash From Sprint to PagePlus

Flashing your cellphone from Sprint to the PagePlus wireless carrier requires you to overwrite the existing network programming on your phone. Sprint and PagePlus use the CDMA network system, which doesn't require a SIM card to connect to a network. Instead, CDMA phones are programmed to connect with a specific carrier's cell towers. Flashing your phone changes its programming to connect to the cell towers of PagePlus instead of Sprint.

Things You'll Need

  • Flashing software
  • USB cable

Instructions

    • 1

Create an account with PagePlus, giving them the information from your cellphone, such as its identification number. This allows you to begin using your phone with the PagePlus network immediately after flashing it.

    • 2

Download to your computer flashing software from an online retailer that specializes in flashing and unlocking phones, such as Flash to Talk, Your Cellular or Remote Squad.

    • 3

Connect your Sprint phone to your computer using a USB cable. Open the flashing software, and follow the on-screen directions to begin flashing your phone. The instructions vary by software provider, but they are provided as simple, step-by-step directions.

    • 4

Disconnect your phone from your computer and turn it off. Wait at least 30 seconds, then turn the phone back on. As it powers up, the reprogrammed -- or flashed -- phone should find the PagePlus cellular network instead of Sprint.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your phone doesn't accept the flashing software's reprogramming, make sure it's running the latest firmware available. Connect it to your computer and download the latest firmware from the phone manufacturer's website, reboot the phone, then try the flashing software again.
  • Always back up your phone before attempting to reprogram the network. Flashing shouldn't affect data in your phone's memory, such as contacts, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
