How to Remove a Plunge Router Spring
Plunge routers are woodworking power tools that allow you to move the bit up or down to adjust the depth of the cut. Spring-loaded columns aid the bit in moving up and down. Unfortunately, the strength of these springs can make it very difficult to adjust the router. Some people prefer to remove the springs so that adjusting the router bit requires less effort. Removing the springs from a plunge router is a simple task that takes just minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
Some plunge routers have a small brass locking pin that may fall out when you remove the springs. Insert the brass pin into the small hole at the base of the columns before repositioning the router on its base.
Never attempt to service the plunge router while it is plugged in; serious injury or death may result.
