The latest version of the MacBook Pro utilizes multi-touch technology. The updates allow users to scroll Web pages and text documents using two fingers, and to swipe away applications windows and jump to other windows using four fingers. The MacBook Pro trackpad connects to the larger top casing on the laptop. The top casing includes the keyboard and power button on the device. You can remove the top casing using a Phillips screwdriver.

      Remove the 1/8-inch screws on left and right side panels of the laptop with a Phillips 1/8-inch screwdriver. Place the screws to the side in a pile. Close the laptop and set it upside down with keys facing the ground. Remove the screws on the bottom of the casing.

      Slide the battery out of its internal casing in direction noted by the arrows on its sides. Remove the small screws on the metallic sides of the battery casing.

      Remove the two screws on the back side of the laptop. These screws are located on the side furthest from the trackpad. Place the screws to the side. Turn the MacBook right-side up with the keys facing upwards and open the top cover.

      Place your left and right hands on the corners furthest from the trackpad. Use your finger nails to wedge your hands between the top casing and the internal body of the device. Pull the casing upwards and towards you. Continue pulling until the top casing has been completely removed from the laptop.
