How to Delete Voices in a Song in Soundbooth

An instrumental track is one in which the vocals -- both lead and backup -- have been removed. If you have Adobe Soundbooth, you can make your own instrumental track by modifying an existing multitrack file and removing the vocals. You can then use these instrumental tracks for whatever you want -- as background sound for your own vocals, in a potential remix, or even as a karaoke song for you and your friends to sing to.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Soundbooth and open the multitrack audio file by clicking "File" and "Open," then selecting the file.

    • 2

Play each of the tracks separately. You want to figure out which track holds the vocals -- there may be more than one track, one for lead vocals and one for backup vocals.

    • 3

Delete the track by clicking on it and pressing the "Delete" key.

    • 4

Click "File" and "Save" to save the track without its vocals.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may want to save the file under a different name, as you can't go back to the original file after it has been saved.
