How to Get Vinyl Poster to Stick on a Cement Wall
Vinyl posters are designed to withstand rain, snow and high winds. Unlike their paper counterparts, vinyl posters don't disintegrate when wet and aren't easily shredded in the wind. One advantage that paper has over vinyl posters is that paper can adhere to just about everything. Vinyl needs an adhesive to come between it and any surface. A cement wall is no different. To ensure that your vinyl poster sticks to the cement wall, you must use the correct adhesive, prepare the wall and apply pressure. All of these things may take more than a few minutes to accomplish.

1
Put on your safety gear. Wear the eye protection, dust mask and latex gloves to protect yourself from inhaling or touching the adhesive. The eye protection prevents contact with the eyes.
-
2
Clean the wall to eliminate any dirt, dust or debris that may prevent the poster from sticking. Wipe the cement wall in the area intended for the poster. Doing so will remove loose dirt. Dip the scrub brush into the soap and water that you should put in the pail. Spray the area to remove the excess debris and dampness.

3
Wait until the wall dries completely before proceeding. While waiting, you can unroll the poster in preparation for sticking to the wall. Review the directions for the polystyrene foam spray adhesive.
-
4
Spray the dry wall with the spray adhesive. Spray the back of the poster with the adhesive as well. Both side must have adhesive in order to properly bond.
-
5
Apply the poster to the wall and smooth it down. Press on the poster as you smooth it to help the bond. The adhesive dries quickly, so smooth out the air bubbles and wrinkles quickly, before they stay that way.

Tips & Warnings
Read the spray adhesive canister carefully before beginning to ensure that all safety precautions are taken.
Lay the poster out in a position that will allow you to lift it up and push it onto the wall. Wasting time with turning and twisting the poster can cause the adhesive to dry before its fully bonded to the cement wall.
