How to Make "Kiss Books" for Children to Give to Their Mothers

Kiss books are professional-quality photo albums that are created from electronic image files. The Kiss company website offers a photo book building system that allows users to design their own Kiss books on the computer, and then submit their designs to the company for printing. Users get to customize the book size, layout and binding material, such as leather or canvas. If a special gift-giving occasion is approaching -- such as the holidays, Mother's Day or a mom's birthday -- consider making Kiss books for kids to give to their mothers.

Instructions

1. Sign into the Kiss company website. Register as a user, and then install the program SWAT -- which stands for Simple Wedding Album Tool -- onto your computer. The SWAT program was intended for wedding albums, but can be used for family vacation albums, children's school portrait albums or anything else. The SWAT program is free, and it's compatible with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, but not Internet Explorer.

2. Upload the image files to the SWAT program interface. These pictures are the electronic files that you have saved on your computer or a disc, uploaded from a digital camera. This is a part of the process that children can assist with. Let kids pick out the pictures they wish to upload into the SWAT program.

3. Design the Kiss book layout. Start by selecting the size of the book you want to make. You can choose from 4-inch by 4-inch, 8-inch by 8-inch, 10-inch by 10-inch or 12-inch by 12-inch books.

4. Choose what type of page template you want to use, such as a page with one large image or a layout with several smaller ones. Let the children help design the Kiss book by asking them which photos should go on which page, and which ones to make large or small.

5. Customize the Kiss book with the kids. Have them select the type of cover they want to use -- leather or canvas. The leather and canvas books have different types of pages. For instance, the leather books have sturdier, thicker pages and the canvas books have pages that are more flimsy. The quality of the photos are the same for both.

6. Ask the children to choose the color for the cover. Kiss books come in seven different colors: white, green, pink, red, black, blue and brown.

7. Submit the order and payment for the children.
