How to Improve FM TV Reception in the Home

You can improve TV reception in your home by installing a signal amplifier into your antenna system. Broadcasters deliver programming over the airwaves in a 1080p high-definition signal comparable with the picture quality available from for-pay cable and satellite services. Amplifier's increase the strength of the signal captured by the antenna to provide better reception to the TVs in your home.

• Signal amplifier

Instructions

1. Move the location of the antenna to receive better reception. If possible, place the antenna near a window and away from other equipment, such as refrigerators, computers, DVD players and metal filing cabinets that can disrupt the signal.

2. Disconnect the coaxial cable connected to the "ANT IN" jack on the rear of the TV.

3. Fasten the coaxial cable from the antenna into the "ANT IN" jack on the amplifier.

4. Connect another coaxial cable to the "ANT OUT" jack on the amplifier.

5. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the "ANT IN" jack on the rear of your TV. Plug the power adapter for the amplifier into a nearby power outlet to begin boosting the TV reception for your home.
