How to Turn on API Access in Basecamp
The company 37signals offers a collaborative project management tool called Basecamp that helps businesses track the status and due dates of projects they're working on, communicate with their clients and employees and share files. Basecamp allows the use of third-party applications to enhance their experiences. API access is required to use third-party applications. The API, also know as application programming interface, ensures that the third-party program can access necessary data from Basecamp.

Log into your Basecamp account to access information about your API. In the past, Basecamp users had to manually turn on their API access; however, Basecamp currently enables API by default.

2
Find your API token, which you will need for third-party applications to connect with Basecamp, by clicking on the "My Info" page located inside of your Basecamp account. "My Info" is located in the upper-right side of your account.
