How to Remove Dirt From Inside a MacBook Pro Screen

Apple calls its MacBook Pros "Apple's fastest notebooks yet." MacBook Pros are made in three screen sizes: 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch. The notebooks are equipped with a Quad-core processor up to 2.5 GHz, memory of up to 8GB, and a hard drive maximum size of 750GB. Apple recommends that users use only the following instructions for cleaning. Prior to using any other cleaning methods, consult the Apple support site.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the MacBook Pro off. Remove it from the power adapter, and disengage the battery.

    • 2

Dampen the lint free cloth slightly with water.

    • 3

Open the MacBook Pro so that you have the screen fully exposed, where you can clearly see the dirt that you want to remove.

    • 4

Apply the cloth gently to the screen, removing the dirt as you go. Take special care with the edges of the screen, which is where the dirt may tend to start moving under the screen. Continue this process until the screen has been fully cleaned.

Tips & Warnings

  • Apple cautions MacBook Pro users that liquid should never be sprayed directly on the MacBook Pro screen.

  • If you disassemble your MacBook Pro, this will void your Apple warranty.
