Wipe OTS memory from your laptop.

OTS files are spreadsheet templates based on the OpenDocument office document standard. OTS files stored in memory pose no threat to the security of your system, but may have outlived their purpose or are taking up too much space. Rather than manually search your laptop’s hard drive in an effort to discover and delete each OTS file individually, use the search tools available in Windows and OS X to quickly build a list of all OTS files stored in your laptop’s memory. From the list, you will be able clear all OTS memory from your computer.

Instructions

  1. Windows

    • 1

Click “Start” and type “.ots” into the search box.

    • 2

Click “See more results.” In the window that opens, you’ll see a list of all OTS files on your PC.

    • 3

Select all OTS files and delete them.

    OS X

    • 4

Choose “Find” from the File menu in Finder.

    • 5

In the search field, type “.ots.” OS X will automatically compile a results list.

    • 6

Select all OTS files from the finished results list and delete them.
