How to Reset a Pioneer Plasma NG Shutdown
A TV shutdown is a safety feature that keeps the system from overheating. Pioneer also programs its plasma TVs with an automatic shutdown that puts the unit into sleep mode if it is unable to pick up a signal. You can reset the automatic feature, but keep in mind that an emergency shutdown is necessary to prevent damage to the complex internal structure of the Pioneer TV.

1
Press the "Menu" button on your remote control. This displays the menu screen on the TV.
-
2
Use the arrow keys on the remote to move the pointer down to "Power Management." Press the "Set" button on the remote to reset this option. For example, if the power management feature is set to "Off," clicking the "Set" button enables it. Power management puts the Pioneer to sleep when the receiver connection is lost.

Repeat the process to change the "Auto Power Off" feature. This shuts down the plasma TV if there is no signal for several minutes. "Auto Power Off" takes the unit out of sleep mode and shuts it down completely. If you enable both the Power Management and Auto Power Off options, the TV will sleep first for a designated time, then shut off if there is still no signal.

Tips & Warnings
If both options are disabled and the Pioneer is still shutting down, this indicates a hardware issue such as overheating. Remove any items around the unit that may be blocking the vent. Listen for signs that the fan may not be functioning. When the unit shuts down, unplug it for up to 3 minutes before turning on the TV again.
If the unit shuts down repeatedly, unplug it from the wall outlet and contact Pioneer for service.
