Tutorial for Coreldraw Text Effects

CorelDRAW is a graphic design program that allows you to create graphics and text images on your computer. Use CorelDRAW’s built-in “Interactive Tool” to create special effects for your text, such as drop shadow and envelope distortion. With these effects, you can customize your text for digital documents, website layouts and other computer images.

Instructions

  1. Drop Shadow Effect

      Click the “Text Tool” in Corel Draw, then select the text size and font style.

      Click on your document and type your text in the text box that appears.

      Click on the text to select it, then click and hold the “Interactive Tool” from the left toolbar.

      Select the “Interactive Drop Shadow Tool” from the menu.

      Click on the text somewhere near the center, hold the mouse button down and drag outward in the directly you want the shadow to display. CorelDraw automatically creates a floating drop shadow under your text.

    Envelope Effect

      Click on the text to select it, then click and hold the “Interactive Tool.”

      Select the “Interactive Envelope Tool” from the menu. A new bounding box appears around your text.

      Click and drag any point on the bounding box to stretch and transform the text. You can also select preset transformations from the “Presets” drop-down menu.
