How to Secure Your MacBook's LCD With Screws
Apple MacBooks are sleek and powerful laptops, making them a potential target for thieves. Given the unique styling and modern appearance of MacBooks and Apple products in general, an unsecured laptop may become a missing one. Using a screw-based, MacBook-specific lock is a proven way to keep your Apple laptop secured to your desk.

1
Locate your laptop on a desktop next to a cable routing grommet hole. Use a sturdy support brace on the desk if you are lacking a cable routing hole.
-
2
Route the looped end of the braided cable connected to the locking mechanism from the MacBook through the hole or around the support brace. This loosely fastens the cable to the desk itself.
-
-
3
Push the locking mechanism through the looped end of the cable. Slide the screw lock into the security port on the side of the MacBook's housing, next to the embossed image of a padlock.
-
4
Secure the lock by inserting the key that came with it and giving it a one-quarter turn clockwise. Give the locking cable a gentle tug to ensure that the screw locking mechanism is securely in the aluminum chassis of the MacBook. The cable and laptop are now secured to the desktop.
