How to Use an SDExplorer SkyDrive

SDExplorer is a third-party extension that integrates Windows Live SkyDrive with Windows Explorer and enables you to access and manage your uploaded files directly on your desktop. You can use it to transfer files from your SkyDrive account to your computer or vice versa. As of the time of the publication, SDExplorer provides users with 25GB of free storage on a PC.

      Go to “Start” and click “Computer.” Double-click the SDExplorer icon to launch the program.

      Enter your Windows Live ID and password. Click the “Sign In” button. You will notice a list of your uploaded SkyDrive folders and files, including documents, photos and videos, in the Windows Explorer window.

      Select the SkyDrive file you want to save to your PC and drag it to your preferred folder. To upload a file from your computer to your SkyDrive account, select the file on your PC and drag it to your preferred SkyDrive folder such as “Photos” or “Documents” in the SDExplorer window. You can also create a new folder in the SDExplorer window by right-clicking an open space, highlighting the "New" option and selecting "Folder." Each file you add to SDExplorer will upload to SkyDrive automatically.
