Adding Affiliate Banners to Proboards

ProBoards hosts both free and paid forums. Users who wish to avoid paying for a domain name and a hosting account can take advantage of this service to save money. Out of the box, each forum is a blank slate that the administrator must customize. Adding affiliate banners to a ProBoards forum can allow the administrator to monetize forum traffic and possibly make a profit. Adding an affiliate banner is easy, and it only requires an affiliate banner link and access to the forum's admin panel.

Instructions

1. Log in to your preferred affiliate account. Locate the advertiser you wish to promote and click "Get Link" or "View Links." Choose the banner you wish to use, highlight the banner code and copy the link to your clipboard.

2. Log in to your ProBoards administrator panel by clicking the "admin" link on the top navigation bar.

3. Locate the sub-header that reads "Customize Your Forum." Click the "Headers and Footers" link.

4. Click the arrow on the drop-down box and select "Global Header/Footer."

5. Paste the affiliate banner link into the header or footer. The link should be an HTML code with an image link and an anchor text link. Use a <center> tag if you want your banner to align to the center of your forum.

6. Click "Save Changes" to confirm the banner addition.
