Drilling a Hole Between the Fridge and Freezer
When making a smoker or a keg cooler out of an old refrigerator, you'll most likely need to drill a hole in the appliance. These retrofitting techniques depend mostly on measuring correctly for the sizes of the hoses, pipes and taps that need to fit through or in the hole you drill. After taking the measurements, you'll finish drilling in no time at all. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Unplug the refrigerator. Determine where exactly to drill the hole between the fridge and freezer by determining the length of your hose or pipe that will run through it. Mark the spot with a pencil.
-
2
Measure the diameter of the hose or pipe that you want to fit through the hole. Match the diameter with the drill bit.

3
Drill your hole where you made the mark in Step 1. Drill slowly, but firmly. Some of the layers may be a little tough to get through.
