Place your Simmons recliner in the full upright position.

Position your recliner away from any walls so that you can easily access the back.

Lift up the fabric at each side of the bottom of the back that is held in place with Velcro strips. Underneath the fabric is the bottom of the back.

Release the tabs on either side of the back using a standard screwdriver.

Stand in back of the recliner and place one hand on either side of it. Lift straight up until the back is completely detached from the body of the recliner.
