How to Disassemble a Simmons Recliner Back

Many people have a Simmons recliner in their living room as part of the furniture that adorns it. Simmons is a widely available brand of recliners sold for decades. The Simmons recliner, like many other brands, have a removal back that makes it easier to move and store. You can remove the back on your Simmons recliner by following a step-by-step procedure that you can complete in just a few minutes with a minimal amount of effort.

Instructions

1. Place your Simmons recliner in the full upright position.

2. Position your recliner away from any walls so that you can easily access the back.

3. Lift up the fabric at each side of the bottom of the back that is held in place with Velcro strips. Underneath the fabric is the bottom of the back.

4. Release the tabs on either side of the back using a standard screwdriver.

5. Stand in back of the recliner and place one hand on either side of it. Lift straight up until the back is completely detached from the body of the recliner.
