How to Make a Fabric Accordion File
Accordion files are perfect for storing documents that range in thickness, or for files that are required to hold a large number of documents. Some accordion folders have multiple pockets, but this design features one large pocket. There is no need to go out and purchase an expensive commercially produced accordion file, instead, make your own for a fraction of the cost. With some commonly found household materials you can make a fully functioning fabric accordion file. This file will last for a long time and will be just as effective as a commercial alternative.

1
Cut two rectangles from a sheet of fabric each measuring 10-by-5 inches.
-
2
Fold each sheet of fabric along the 10-inch sides every 1/2 inch, then fold it against itself in a zigzag fashion, just like an accordion. Use some spray starch and an iron to stiffen the fabric and make clean and straight folds.

-
3
Glue one edge of one folded piece of fabric to one of the inside edges of the paper file folder, and the other side of the folded fabric to the matching edge of the file.
-
4
Glue the other folded piece of fabric to the other side of the file folder and then set the folder aside to allow the glue to dry for 2 hours, then enjoy your new creation.
