The kitchen drain plug is actually a Kohler sink strainer, with a basket inserted into the strainer after the strainer is installed into the sink drain and connected to the drain tailpiece. Although it is unusual for it to happen, the basket can become vacuum-sealed to the drain and extremely difficult to remove. Use care when removing it to avoid damaging the finish.
