How to Convert a Torrent to NZB

Torrents are widely used to transmit files directly from one computer to another, without the need to host them on a server. The files are downloaded through peer-to-peer, or file-sharing, programs that reconstruct the files bit by bit. An NZB torrent, which contains info on Usenet newsgroups, starts as a tiny file that contains the file name and information about the trackers. Once the download is complete you'll have either the finished file or an archive that must be unzipped.

Instructions

    • 1

Install a file-sharing application like Vuze, BitTorrent or uTorrent.

    • 2

Double-click the torrent and it will open in the program you installed. It it fails, open the P2P client first and enable the option Associate with .torrent Files.

    • 3

Click "Start" to begin downloading if the download does not begin automatically.

    • 4

Wait until the download reaches 100 percent, then right-click it.

    • 5

Click Open Containing Folder to locate the NZB. If the file name ends with a RAR or ZIP extension, install compression software to open it.
