1
Wear protective eye goggles and wash all masonry surfaces with a power washer to remove all dirt, grease and chemical residue. If efflorescence -- a powdery mineral deposit that forms on masonry surfaces -- is present, wash the surfaces with muriatic acid according to the product directions and rinse thoroughly with the power washer. Strip painted masonry surfaces with a wire brush or sandblaster before power washing.
-
2
Allow surfaces to dry thoroughly before applying coatings; wait for a clear day when applying DRYLOK to exterior surfaces.
-
-
3
Repair holes or cracks in masonry surfaces with a quick setting hydraulic cement. Mix the cement according to the manufacturer's instructions and work the cement into the damaged area with a trowel, creating a smooth, even patch. Allow the cement to cure completely.
-
4
Apply DRYLOK when temperatures are above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix the sealer thoroughly with a stirring stick before, and frequently during, application.
-
5
Apply coatings to masonry with a 3/4-inch nap roller or paint sprayer for best results. Work the coating thoroughly into all surface pores and crevices when applying coatings with a roller. Apply a light tack coat to the entire surface when applying DRYLOK with a sprayer. After the tack coat has dried, apply a full base coat of DRYLOK followed by a second full coat. Do not thin DRYLOK when spraying. Allow a minimum of three hours of drying time between coats.

6
Allow DRYLOK to cure for a full week before placing fill over exterior surfaces or occupying indoor areas.
