1
Position the tie around your neck with the tie's patterned side facing outward. The tie's wide end should be at your right side and the narrow end on your left. Pull the wide end down so its tip is about 12 inches past the tip of the narrow end.
-
2
Cross the wide end over the front of the narrow end. Guide the wide end up through the neck loop you created and bring it back out over the top of the tie. The wide end should be at your left side and the narrow end at your right.
-
-
3
Guide the wide end behind the narrow end, so the wide end is diagonally above the rest of the tie and its front side faces inward. Pull the ends snugly to secure them.
-
4
Insert the wide end into the top of the neck loop and back out through the bottom of the loop, to the left of the narrow end.
-
5
Bring the wide end across the front of the narrow end to create a loose knot. The front sides of both ends should face outward.
-
6
Insert the wide end upward through the neck loop, behind the narrow end. Insert the wide end downward through the loose knot created by passing the wide end over the narrow end.
-
7
Pull the ends to tighten them and bring the finished knot up close to your shirt collar.
