1
Apply mayonnaise to the dry ends of your hair, because it's a natural conditioner. Leave it on your ends for at least 5 minutes. Then rinse it out, and shampoo your hair.
-
2
Avoid washing your hair every day, because this strips the natural oils -- also known as sebum. Sebum acts as your hair's natural scalp and hair conditioner. It travels down the hair shaft as you comb or brush your hair.

3
Wash your hair with a mild shampoo for dry or damaged hair. Other shampoos may be too harsh -- drying your ends out even more.
-
4
Use a leave-in moisturizing conditioner after washing your hair. Focus on the tips of your hair when massaging in the conditioner. If the hair at your scalp gets greasy fast, apply the conditioner only to the ends of your hair.
-
5
Distribute a thin layer of olive oil over the ends of your hair -- just two or three drops, rubbed between your hands before applying. The oil seals in the moisture from the conditioner and water. As an alternative, use a commercial dry ends corrector product to moisturize and smooth your ends.
-
6
Avoid using heat styling tools, because heat is damaging to your hair, especially the ends. Allow your hair to air-dry, and then curl it with hair rollers instead of a curling iron.
-
7
Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C and vitamin A, because these promote the production of natural hair oils. Include foods such as broccoli, salmon, spinach and Swiss chard in your diet.
