How to Add Blank Space to a WordPress Blog

WordPress, a content management system, allows you to post text-based Web content to a blog site. Because the default setting for the text editor is a "what you see is what you get" type, trying to make blank spaces will result in WordPress deleting the extra spaces. However, you can successfully add your blank spaces by manipulating basic HTML code in the HTML markup version of your WordPress blog's text editor.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your WordPress blog and click "Add New." Alternatively, click "Edit" beside an already-created post you want to modify.

    • 2

Click the "HTML" tab beside "Visual" -- above the post.

    • 3

Type in the following code, in between the lines of text you want to separate, to create your blank space:

      <p><code><br/></code></p>

    • 4

Click "Publish" or "Update" to publish or revise your post.
