How to Give Facials With a Machine

Many spas and salons offer facial machine treatments. However, you can also learn to perform this relaxing treatment on yourself or a friend. Facial machines are used as a tool for smoothing and revitalizing skin. They are designed to thoroughly cleanse the face -- opening pores and removing dirt and dead skin. There are many different types available including galvanic, microdermabrasion and high frequency devices. When used properly, you can give a facial that softens and exfoliates the person's skin, leaving her feeling younger and refreshed.

Instructions

1. Ask the person getting the facial to wash her face -- thoroughly removing any makeup or foundation.

2. Wet the facial skin using warm water. Depending on the type of facial machine you are using, you may need to apply a cleanser to the face before beginning the treatment. Your specific machine's instructions will state whether this is necessary and, if so, what type to apply. Some types of facial machines work on dry skin, so read the manual carefully.

3. Turn on your facial machine. Start out with the lowest power setting, especially if this is your first time using it.

4. Work the brush of the machine in a slow, gentle, circular motion around the entire face. Then turn off the machine, and rinse off the face with warm water.
