How to Make iMesh Work
IMesh is a legal, peer-to-peer music-downloading application. After downloading and installing iMesh on your computer, you can download both free and premium music from iMesh. You can even put the songs you download on a portable music player, such as an iPod. The record labels and other rights-holders provide iMesh with high-quality, licensed premium music. Premium songs, identified by gold CD icons, require a paid subscription, although iMesh comes with a free trial of the subscription.

Click the “Download Free iMesh” button on the iMesh website to download iMesh to your computer. Double-click the downloaded iMesh EXE file and follow the instructions on your screen to install it.

Launch iMesh after installing it by double-clicking the “iMesh” icon on your desktop. You can also click “Start,” type “iMesh” into the search box in the Start menu and press “Enter” to open it.

Create an iMesh account using the registration wizard that appears. Complete the registration wizard to enter an iMesh nickname and password, your email address and personal information.

Add media files to your iMesh library by clicking “Next” in the window that appears. Click the “Add a Folder” button and browse for folders on your computer. IMesh adds all media files in the selected folders to your library. You can also add folders by clicking the “Menu” button at the top right corner of the iMesh window, pointing to “File” and selecting “Add Folder to Library.”

Search for music by clicking the “Search” tab in the iMesh window, typing a search into the box and pressing “Enter.” Click the “Free” tab above the search results to view free music or the “Premium” tab to view premium music.

Start downloading a song by double-clicking it in the search results. IMesh starts downloading the song and shows its progress at the bottom of the window.

View your music library by clicking the “Library” tab at the top of the iMesh window. The library contains songs from your computer and songs you’ve downloaded from iMesh. Use the “Search Tracks” box at the top right corner of the library pane to search your library. Play songs by double-clicking them.

Use your iPod or other portable music player with iMesh by connecting it to your computer. Your device appears in the sidebar of the library pane. Drag and drop music from your library onto the device to add songs to your device. You can also drag and drop songs from your device to your iMesh library.

Tips & Warnings
You can purchase a premium music subscription by clicking the “File” menu and selecting “Buy a Subscription.”
IMesh requires Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11 or newer versions of these programs. If you’re using Windows XP, you can download updated versions of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player from Microsoft’s website to make iMesh work.
