Instructions

    • 1

Place a masonry drill bit into a hammer drill and tighten the drill chuck. Follow the directions in the hammer drill owner's guide for installing the drill bit. Use the exact size drill bit specified by the concrete screw manufacturer.

    • 2

Place the cabinet in the desired position on the wall. Have your helpers hold the cabinet in place.

    • 3

Drill holes in the back of the cabinet in the places where you want to put the screws. You should drill through the back of the cabinet into the concrete wall. The hole should be 1/4-inch deeper than the screw threads. For example, drill a 2 1/2-inch hole for a 2 1/4-inch concrete screw.

    • 4

Put a Phillips head drill tip or a hexagon nut setter into the hammer drill and tighten the chuck. Use the appropriate drill bit required for the concrete screw.

    • 5

Drive a concrete screw into one of the pre-drilled holes in the back of the cabinet. Make sure the concrete screw goes into the wall until it is firmly against the back of the cabinet. Repeat these procedures for the rest of the concrete screws.

Tips & Warnings

  • Hex nut concrete screws are easier to drive into the concrete wall than a Phillips head screw. Use a hex nut style concrete screw, if possible.

  • Estimate the amount of weight the cabinet will hold so you can use the appropriate size and number of concrete screws to secure the cabinet.

  • Make sure that cabinet does not move when you are pre-drilling the holes for the concrete screws. The concrete screws must go into the pre-drilled holes to bond properly.
