How to Make a Friendship Bracelet With Hearts for Beginners

A friendship bracelet is a common jewelry piece given from one friend to another. If you've never made this type of bracelet before, rest assured that it is easy to create. Using beads and elastic string you can make a simple bracelet that can slide on and off a wrist. Add a plastic heart bead to symbolize the love and affection between you and your friend, and place your initials on top of the heart.

Things You'll Need

• Elastic string
• Scissors
• Various beads
• Plastic heart bead
• Permanent marker

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of elastic string to about 8 inches long.

2. String a decorative bead to the bottom of the elastic, tying the elastic around the bead to secure it in place.

3. Continue stringing beads onto the elastic until half of the elastic is filled with beads.

4. Snake a plastic heart bead onto the elastic so it sits on top of the beads already stringed onto the piece.

5. Continue placing beads onto the string until you have about 1/2 inch of elastic left at the top.

6. Tie the elastic ends together in a knot to create the bracelet.

7. Write the initials of you and your friend onto one side of the heart bead, using a permanent marker.
