How to Size a Speedo Swimsuit

Sizing a traditional Speedo swimsuit can be intimidating, but it's actually easier than you think. MacRae introduced the first "racerback" swimsuit, which permitted greater freedom of movement, allowing people to swim faster. They came up with the slogan "Speed on in your Speedos" and the name "Speedo" was introduced in 1928. To this day Speedo is known for designing cutting edge athletic swimwear. The main difference when sizing a Speedo swimsuit for men and women is that they follow UK size guidelines. The company provides a swimsuit sizing chart for every suit, including the women's performance suit line described. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap a tape measure loosely under the chest, at the widest part of the rib cage. This will determine the chest measurement.

    • 2

Place the tape measure at the furthest point of one shoulder and loop it down underneath the crotch area and back up to the shoulder. This is called the body loop measurement.

    • 3

Wrap the tape measure around the natural waist. This is where your body begins to crease when you bend sideways.

    • 4

Measure from the crotch all the way down the inside of the leg to the ankle. This is the inside leg measurement.
