DIY Bridesmaid Clutch
Your bridesmaids help make your wedding a success. A small gift is an appropriate way to show your appreciation. A handmade clutch sends a message of appreciation, and provides you with a place to put a few small pampering items, such as lip gloss. There is no need for sewing knowledge. Purchase a few plain-colored clutches and add your own embellishments. Your bridesmaids will be able to show off their personalities throughout your wedding festivities while also feeling your gratitude for their part in your big day.

1
Choose a clutch in a solid color that coordinates with your bridesmaids' dresses.

2
Draw a few sketches on paper to guide your final design decision. Consider your wedding theme or the personalities of your bridesmaids as you choose a design.
-

3
Glue colored rhinestones onto the clutch using jewelry glue. Line the edges of the clutch with rhinestones, or glue them on in a pattern or design. Use a stencil to help you place the rhinestones in your desired pattern.

4
Tie a piece of ribbon into a small bow. Choose a color that coordinates with the purse and the rhinestones you have chosen.
-
5
Glue the ribbon bow to the front of the clutch.

Fill the homemade clutch with personal mementos for your bridesmaid. Compact mirrors, tissues, lipstick and a handwritten thank-you note are all appropriate.

Tips & Warnings
Choose a clutch that has hard sides. It will be sturdier and hold up better to being held for several hours at the wedding and reception.
Put your bridesmaid's initials, using rhinestones, on her clutch to personalize the gift.
Felt scraps in your wedding colors are another way to add a personal, handmade touch to your clutch purses. Cut out flower shapes and glue them to each clutch. Add a large rhinestone in the center of each flower.
Use other craft accessories, such as pearls, beads or silk flowers, to enhance your handmade clutch purses.
Line the exterior of each clutch purse with printed satin before attaching the rhinestones. Choose a fabric that coordinates with your wedding color scheme.
