New York's Broadway gets the best shows and the biggest stars but they can often be the hardest ticket. Finding tickets to a hot Broadway show is not always easy and it can get expensive.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Figure out whether you would like to see a play, a musical, a holiday show or something else.

  2. Step 2

Choose some shows you would like to see by reading or listening to reviews.

  3. Step 3

Examine your schedule and determine what day you would like to see the show.

  4. Step 4

Try calling the box office for the show you want to see.

  5. Step 5

Consider waiting in line the day of the show in New York City's Times Square for half price tickets to less popular shows.

  6. Step 6

Log on to the Internet, go to StubHub.com and click on the link to Broadway tickets.

  7. Step 7

Purchase your ticket using a credit card or over the phone.

  8. Step 8

Make sure to have the tickets sent to the correct location, your home or office or your hotel in New York.

  9. Step 9

    Enjoy the show!

Tips & Warnings
  • -It is easier to get tickets to a show during the week than on the weekend.
  • -Matinees are often less expensive than evening performances
  • - In most cases (but not always), there are more tickets available, and at better prices, well in advance of the show.

on 5/8/2007 buy tickets well in advance if you are planning to go to a extremely popular show or to see a certain performer's final show. If you wait till the last minute, the show will be sold out or the only seats left will be the worst in the house.

on 6/30/2006 Many cities such as Seattle, Boston, and Cincinnati are frequently visited by national tours that are professional quality and still on Broadway. Buying season tickets assures a good discount on shows that are not in the season passes. This also helps if a major hit is traveling through your city. If you want to upgrade your seats for one of the big shows, you will get preference over people without season subscriptions.
