How Do I Configure a Video Conference With X-Lite?

The X-Lite softphone program allows you to start your own audio or video conference call right from the comfort of your computer. As a conference host, you can only add two additional parties to the call, for a maximum of three call participants. For video conferencing to work, you need a video camera. X-Lite works with most USB video cameras.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug one end of a USB cable into your camera's USB port. Connect the other end of the cable to your computer's USB port.

    • 2

Open the X-Lite program on your computer.

    • 3

View your “Contacts” list, located on the far right side of the softphone. Click the name of the person you want to include in the video conference. Alternatively, use the telephone number pad to dial the number.

    • 4

Wait for the participant to answer the call. Click the “Conf”button. Select “Line 2.”

    • 5

Click the name of the next person you want to add to the conference call (or manually dial the number). Click “Conf” again to conference the third party onto the call.

Display video footage of everyone participating in the conference. To do this, open the video drawer by clicking the black arrow button, located on the far left side of the softphone. Click “Start” from the video drawer to start video conference.
