How to Change the CoD4 Miles Folder on a Mac
Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) is a first-person shooter game that runs on Xbox, Windows PCs and Macintoshes. Like all video games, it contains a number of asset files -- the technical term for models, sound files and similar items -- that make the computer run. The music asset files are in the Miles folder of the game's installation. Because the game has no in-game controls for turning off the background music, a workaround is changing the name of the Miles directory when the program isn't running and re-starting it. This doesn't impede playing the game; it usually means the program doesn't load the music files.
