As any boarder will tell you, the fun of wakeboarding -- a sport that includes elements of surfing, waterskiing and snowboarding -- is learning to do tricks. One such trick is the tootsie roll. If you are wondering how to execute a tootsie roll, you can do this trick by combining a toeside frontroll with a backside 180.

Instructions

    • 1

Take a progressive approach to the wake, keeping your knees bent and flattening your angle as you pick up speed.

    • 2

Ride up the crest at the trough of the wake and execute a toeside frontroll with your head turned (blind side) and the handle held behind your back.

    • 3

Execute a blind pass while you're airborne by transferring the handle from back to front. Hit the water with your knees bent, landing on your heels for stability.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wakeboarding can be dangerous. Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket and a helmet.

  • Never board while intoxicated. Stay alert at all times, looking out for other vehicles on the water.

  • Keep track of your rope so that you don't run over it. If you do run over the rope, unhook it from the tower, turn off the engine, get your boat towed back to the dock, and unwind your rope there.

  • If you've never taken a boat out before, consider taking a safety course approved by the Coast Guard.
