How to Operate a Hi-Bird ATV-P35
The Hi-Bird P35 four-wheel all-terrain vehicle was manufactured by Hi-Bird Motorcycle Company in China from 1995 to 1999. Like most ATVs, Hi-Bird's P35 model has the clutch in front of the left handle grip, the front brakes in front of the right handle grip, the throttle near the thumb of the right handle grip, the gear shift pedal on the left foot rest, the kick start on the right side of the ATV and the rear brakes on the right foot rest. The major difference between the Hi-Bird P35 ATV and other ATVs is that it is a manually operated ATV. You must know the hand controls and foot pedals in order to operate the P35 properly.

2
Put the gear shift pedal on the left side of the Hi-Bird ATV in the neutral position by pulling up on the gear pedal with your left foot one time, similar to a motorcycle. Pull in on the clutch located in front of the left hand grip. Place your right foot on the kick start and quickly press down on the kick start. Give the ATV some gas by pressing on the throttle with your right thumb once the engine ignites.

Continue holding the clutch while you push down on the gear shift pedal with your left foot. Release the clutch in your left hand slowly as you give the P35 some gas with your right thumb. Move the ATV slowly forward until it is increasing speed and release the clutch. Press in on the throttle with your right thumb to increase speed.

Engage the clutch, release the throttle with your left thumb and pull up on the gear shift pedal with the toes on left foot two times to change from first to second gear as your speed increases. Release the clutch as you press on the throttle. Make all three motions at relatively the same time. Continuing to increase speed requires another gear change. Perform the same steps, pull in on the clutch and release the throttle, but only pull up on the gear shift pedal one time to get the ATV into third gear. Continue increasing speed and changing gears until you have reached sixth gear.

5
Slow the P35 down by pulling in on the front brake handle with your right hand or by pressing down on the rear brake pedal. Slowing down requires you to move your toes from underneath the gear shift pedal and place them on top of the gear shift pedal. Engage the clutch and press down on the gear shift pedal one time to move the sixth gear to fifth gear. Continue this step until you get to first gear. Placing the ATV into neutral gear requires you to pull up on the gear shift pedal, because neutral gear is located between first and second gear.
