Instructions for Windshield Replacement on a Yamaha FJR1300
The FJR1300 is a sport-touring motorcycle produced by Yamaha, providing a modern, sportier option than the more classically-styled cruiser-like touring motorcycles. The FJR spans two distinct model generations, with the first generation spanning from 2001 to 2005, and the second generation beginning production in 2006. Aside from styling changes, the newer generation received an electronically-adjustable windshield controlled by a handlebar-mounted switch. Many FJR1300 owners replace the stock windshield with taller, more aerodynamic aftermarket windshields to reduce windblast and buffeting while traveling at speeds at or above 70 miles per hour. Replacing either generation's windshield is a fairly straightforward task requiring only a few tools.
