How to Make a Ring From a Wire Hanger
A wire coat hanger is sometimes seen as a boring household item. But the creative mind sees a number of decorative holiday projects like wreaths or mobiles. With a pair of work gloves and pliers, turn those ho-hum hangers into wire rings that are ready to be adorned with anything your festive imagination can dream up.

Grab the hanger at its hook and the length between the two corners and pull the two apart from each other until the hanger is in a shape of a diamond.

Grasp the hanger in both hands and bend it into shape between your thumbs and forefingers, working your way around until the diamond has turned into a rounded circle. Start at the hook and smooth it out all the way around.

Crimp any angles that are left in the ring with a pliers. Use them to manipulate any uneven corners that your fingers weren't able to bend into a curve.

Snap the hook off the top with a wire cutter, if desired. For wreaths and other ornamental decorative items, keep the hanger hook attached for hanging your project on a door or wall.

Tips & Warnings
Use caution when snipping the wire as it the cut can leave a sharp edge.
