Instructions

    • 1

Flip the “On/Off” switch on your Canon ImageCLASS MF4150 to the “Off” position.

    • 2

Remove the paper from the feeding tray at the front of the machine and the document feeder tray on the top. If paper is jammed in the rear or automatic document feeder areas of the machine, flip down the rear cover or lift up the ADF cover on top, pull out the jammed paper carefully and then close the covers. If paper is under the scanner cover, lift the cover, grasp the paper by its side, carefully pull it out, then close the cover.

    • 3

Unplug the power cord from the back of your machine on the left side and then unplug it from your wall outlet or surge protector. Unplug the telephone cords from the back of your printer on the right side. Fold the cords to a smaller size and wrap them with rubber bands. Place the folded cords in a plastic zipper-style bag, seal the bag and then set it aside.

    • 4

Grasp the sides of the document feeder tray and carefully pull it away from your machine if you're cleaning or relocating the machine. Set the tray aside.

    • 5

Place your hand under the front of the console and lift the top up. Stop lifting when the scanning platform and console lock in place to reveal the printer interior.

    • 6

Lift up the toner cartridge cavity cover, grasp the handle on the cartridge and then pull it carefully up and out of the cavity. Insert the cartridge immediately into an opaque black bag and seal it shut with box tape. If there’s paper jammed in the cavity, pull it carefully out. When you’re finished, lower the covers and relocate the printer or keep the covers open and clean or repair the machine as needed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never open the drum protective shutter when removing the toner cartridge.

  • Expose the cartridge to as little light as possible to prevent damage.
