How to Flip RMB on a Flash Drive
USB media, such as flash drives, were always intended to work as short-term storage, usually to carry data from one computer to another. Accordingly, engineers never designed them to behave as traditional hard drives, with partitions and addresses. However, by using a special utility to "flip," or change the RMB of the device from its current binary value to the opposite value, you can partition and install various types of media onto the drive. RMB stands for "removable media bit."
