Sauteed Acorn Squash
Sauteed acorn squash is a quick and easy side dish to add to your meal. Acorn squash is a winter squash that has a sweet taste. It usually has a dark green color and is shaped like an acorn. Acorn squash is a vegetable that can be easily stored for several months, as long as it's stored in a cool and dry place. Things You'll Need
- Skillet
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/10 tsp. nutmeg
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- Knife
- Vegetable peeler
- Plate
- Paper towel

Remove the skin of the squash with a peeler.

Cut the ends of the squash. Cut the squash in half.

Scoop the seeds from the squash.

Cut the squash into cubes.

Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat on high.

Add two tablespoons of vegetable oil. Allow the oil to heat for three minutes before adding the squash.

Sprinkle a teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/10 teaspoon of nutmeg on the squash to season. Lightly salt and pepper the squash.

Place the squash in the skillet. Allow to cook for two to three minutes. Turn the squash over and allow to cook for another two to three minutes. If you want the squash to to be softer, turn the heat down to medium and cook for five to seven minutes. Turn the squash frequently so that you don't burn it.

Place the cooked squashed on a plate lined with a paper towel. Allow the oil to drain from the squash before serving.

Roast the seeds from the squash in the oven for an additional treat.
