Slow Cooker Meals in Minutes
Slow cookers, contrary to the name, are timesavers in the kitchen. They cook the food for an extended period of time at a low temperature to create moist, tender meals. Slow cooker meals can be fixed in minutes and left to cook while you are at work or school. Some meals have little prep time and can be prepared before you dash out the door. Try a few recipes and come home to a nice cooked meal. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 4 medium potatoes
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Beef chuck roast, 3 pounds
- 1 cup baby carrots
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 can cola soft drink
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
- 1 teaspoon dried, Italian seasoning
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 4 potatoes
- 1 1/2 cup baby carrots
- 2 cutting boards
- 1 3-pound sirloin pork roast
- Non-stick cooking spray
- 2 teaspoons Southwest seasoning
- 12 ounce jar of chunky salsa
- 2 forks
- 8 flour or corn tortillas
- Aluminum foil
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions

Soft Drink Roast

Cube the potatoes and set aside.

Spray the inside of the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Set the roast in the slow cooker.

Pour in the carrots and the cubed potatoes. Evenly distribute them in the pot.

Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the roast.

Pour the can of soft drink over all of the ingredients in the slow cooker.

Replace the lid on the slow cooker and set it to cook for eight hours on the low setting.
Garlic Chicken and Vegetables

Slice the chicken breasts into strips and set aside.

Mince the three cloves of garlic and cube the potatoes.

Pour all ingredients into the slow cooker and place the lid on top.

Set the slow cooker to low heat and let cook for six to eight hours.
Pork Burritos

Place the roast on a cutting board. Rub half of Southwest seasoning onto the roast. Flip the roast and repeat.

Spray the slow cooker pot with non-stick cooking spray. Place the roast inside the cooker.

Pour 2 cups of the salsa over the pork. Cover the slow cooker and set the temperature to low. Cook for six to eight hours.

Remove the roast from the cooker and place on a clean cutting board. Shred the pork with the two forks. Use them to separate the meat.

Package the tortillas in aluminum foil. Place in a 350-degree F oven for 20 minutes.

Fill the tortillas with pork, salsa and shredded cheese. Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards and roll the tortilla up to form a burrito.

Tips & Warnings
Handle raw meat with care. Always wash your hands and work surfaces with anti-bacterial soap immediately afterwards.
